Hats off to the Central Corridor: Celebration of the Arts
by Kate Iverson on May.04, 2011, under 65FUN, Arts & Culture
It’s impossible not to noticed that certain parts of St. Paul have been overwhelmed by major construction due to the ongoing lightrail project in the Central Corridor. While businesses city-wide have been logistically planning for this major change (and perhaps suffering through it a bit), local artists have apparently been hard at work as well, creating representative art pieces out of Styrofoam heads and hats. But don’t simply expect bedazzled hard hats: this flock of talented creators will surprise you with their ingenuity and opinions.
Head to the Lyric at Carleton Place tonight to check out the work, enjoy food from the neighborhood, live music, and more while you learn about what’s on task for the Central Corridor – and believe us, there’s plenty. Keeping creativity and local businesses thriving throughout the city is one of the key goals, and under the guidance of the group at Discover Central Corridor, St. Paul’s going to be sitting pretty (visually and otherwise) once the lightrail makes its debut.
Thursday, May 5th: 4-7pm, free and open to the public.
The Lyric at Carleton Place / 765 Hampden Avenue / St. Paul
