Haven’t been able to make it to CAMP’s hugely popular production celebrating the life and songs of Judy Garland? You’re in luck – it’s been extended. The show starring Alicia Renee and pianist Paul Kovacovic highlights the highs and lows of the Minnesota native through her best-loved songs like “The Trolley Song”, “You Made Me Love You” and, of course, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Bonus: Get free tickets tonight when you mention “facebook” at the door! (7:30 p.m. $10-19. 490 N. Robert St., St. Paul, 651-290-2290.)

FRIDAY: Artist Mercantile & Sophist A Gifts Holiday Party at Historic Hamm Building
Located in the heart of St. Paul’s theatre district, the Historic Hamm Building plays host to a bevvy of gifts sure to bring out the drama in your gift-giving this year. The artists and artisans behind the Artist Mercantile (a local collective specializing in ceramics, wood, photography, and leather) are joining forces with St. Paul gift shop Sophist A Gifts for a holiday party. Take advantage of one-day-only sales and specials, snack on delish refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, and enjoy live jazz by Lynn Frank. (2-9 p.m. 408 St. Peter St., St. Paul. 651-848-0452.)

The Trashmen
SATURDAY: The Trashmen at Turf Club
Seminal ’60s surf-garage rockers the Trashmen play a rare local show back in their hometown for the first time in recent memory. The band, which reunited briefly in the ’80s, has been more active as of late, playing gigs throughout the US and Europe in 2009 for fans of their influential, though oft-derided as novelty, sound. Fun fact: “Weird Al” Yankovic prothletized the band on NPR, saying they were one of the first to have “distilled rock music to its essence.” Best of all, it’s a rare chance to hear “Surfin’-Bird” (known for its “bird is the word” chorus) live. (9 p.m. $15-20. 21-plus. 1601 University Ave. W., St. Paul. 651-647-0486.)

Sisters of Swing
OPENING SATURDAY: “Sisters of Swing” at History Theatre
Revisit the American experience during World War II through the finger-snapping, Big Band music of the Minnesota-born Andrew Sisters, including “Don’t Sit Under Apple Tree,” “Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Rum and Coca Cola,” and many more. Check out my review of the show tomorrow. (7:30 p.m. Thu.-Sat. and 2 p.m. Sat. & Sun. through Dec. 20. $28-32. 30 E. 10th St., St. Paul. 651-292-4323.)
