With MNfashion Week kicking off early this weekend, it’s no surprise there happen to be a ton of stylish events happening in St. Paul this week. After all, Minneapolis isn’t the only Twin City with a happening fashion scene.

Thursday: An Evening at Eastcliff

The Friends of St. Paul’s Goldstein Museum of Design are behind this official MNfashion Week event at the beautiful home and gardens of the President of the University of Minnesota. Two local fashion designers, Amanda Christine and Allison Quinnell (both of which were featured in Voltage 2009), will share a selection of their Fall 2009 collections as guests sip wine and take in a rare opportunity to take in the surroundings at Eastcliff. Friday: GO LIVE 5 at 526 Salon Spa Gallery

This weekend also happens to include the monthly art-meets-fashion-meets-music studio party at Stephen Trevino’s happening salon 526. Artist Shannon McElree will showcase his abstract paintings while Lyz Wendland presents sculptures, drawings and an installation born out of her month-long residency in Basin, Montana. Meanwhile, 526 stylists will create avant-garde hair styles on live models wearing clothing from local boutiques, and Cheeky Monkey Deli and Solo Vino will be on hands with food and bevvies. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Hughes Foundation, which serves those affected by HIV/AIDS in the Twin Cities and beyond. Friday-Sunday: Loeber + Look Jewelry Show at Grand Hand Gallery

Wisconsin jewelry designers Dona Look and Ken Loeber have been creating clean-lined, contemporary jewelry for 28+ years combined. Their work has been exhibited worldwide, has won numerous awards, and is in the permanent collection of the American Craft Museum. Tuesday-Sunday: Up Six Vintage 8th Anniversary & Clearance Sale

BlackBlu opens

In other St. Paul shopping news, new boutique BlackBlu has quietly opened its doors. Owner Steve Kang tells me they will be participating in the upcoming fashion show at FiveTwoSix Salon Spa Gallery on October 17 and having its grand opening later in October.
