Sing for Cotton!

by on Sep.24, 2010, under Guest Blog

leona_colbieWho doesn’t love the cozy feel of cotton!  It’s hypoallergenic, keeps us cool, and it’s resistant to those nasty dust-mites we all hear about.

Rosedale Center is the only mall in the Twin Cities, and  one of 15 malls nationwide to launch “The Fabric of Our Lives®” advertising campaign this fall.

Do you enjoy singing or should I say, can you sing?  Enter the display closet at Rosedale Center where you can enter “The Fabric of My Life®” Song Contest.  Once you enter the closet, you can listen to the each artist’s rendition of  “The Fabric of My Life®” song.  The closet will also feature the latest cotton trends from Macy’s and don’t forget to leave without grabbing a $10 Macy’s WOW Pass.   Five videos will be selected as finalists;  the finalist who receives the most votes will win a four night trip for two to New York City, a $1,000 cotton shopping spree at Macy’s and a recording studio experience.

Two young performers, Leona Lewis and Colbie Caillat are headlining the campaign by showing fashionable women around the Twin Cities their unique style – in cotton fashion, of course!  Cotton Incorporated partnered with Macy’s to feature beautiful cotton clothing inspired by these two artists.

In addition to stopping by Rosedale Center, you can also visit TheFabricOfOurLives.com.  All you need is a webcam and an internet connection to enter.  Entrants can also share their videos on Facebook  and invite others to join in the fun!

Make sure you’re one of the lucky few and get there early!

Cool Fact from Gap Inc: The 1969 Premium Jeans were made under the strict guidelines of Gap Inc.’s Clean Water Program, which requires that all Gap Inc.-contracted denim laundries treat wastewater to ensure it’s safe and clean for local communities. Gap Inc.’s Clean Water Program, one of the first of its kind in the apparel industry, was established five years ago based on clean water standards developed by BSR (www.bsr.org), a global business network and consultancy focused on sustainability.

At Aerie, a sister store of American Eagle, they carry active wear, apparel and lingerie.  Aerie is offering many cool deals for those back-to-school shoppers; they have 7 for $25 underwear, buy 2 bras and get 25% off your purchase, and more!  Searching for a cheaper fix?  Check out Vanity where you can buy new fall fashions for cheap!  All jeggings, jeans, accessories, select tops, jewelry, and footwear are buy one get one 50% off!  With deals like this, you can’t go wrong with back-to-school style.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but going back-t0-school for some, is in a matter of days!  We all need schools supplies, and we don’t want them to be boring…or expensive.  Let’s face it, we want to our school necessities such as notebooks, binders, and pens to be stylish.  To check off the list for less, Target offers some super cheep cool school items, such as patterned folders for $1.99, and Bic Ballpoint pens for .$99.

Team Rosedale!

by on Jul.02, 2010, under Teen Scene

On June 30, at midnight, children and adults alike flocked to one of the many theaters premiering Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight saga.  As a self-proclaimed Twi-hard, I dashed over to Rosedale AMC theater and bought the first available spot.  Need to kill a few hours before you movie?  Rosedale Center has plenty of great shops and restaurants to keep you busy and your pockets empty!

eclipsewallpaper1The much-anticipated movie lived up to the hype!   Eclipse was the best of the Twilight series thus far.   The two-hour movie could have lasted the entire day and my eyes still would have been glued to the screen.  The mix of romance, intensity, action, and intrigue combined to make the best summer movie yet!  Bella (Kristen Stewart) is once again surrounded by danger as she is forced to choose between Edward (Robert Pattinson), the love of her life, or her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner).   As to not spoil the movie for the many uber fans out there, all I will say is, the movie followed the book very well.

The tickets at Rosedale AMC are $10.00 after 4pm for adults, otherwise $7.50 before 3:55pm.  Monday through amc-rosedale-14Thursday, you can catch a flick for $5 (excluding holidays and weekday film openings).  When you’re sitting for two hours at a movie, comfortable seating is a must!  Rosedale AMC seats feel like you’re relaxing in a recliner at home – comfortable and most importantly, clean.  The stadium style seating assures everyone a close-up view of Bella, Edward, Jacob and all of the exciting action they bring.

So, grab your friends, head to Rosedale AMC Theater, grab some popcorn, and settle in for some great summer flicks!

Some upcoming movies to check out:  The Last Airbender ( showing now, and also available in 3D), The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (July 14), and Salt (July 23).
