West Saint Paul Days are back!

by on May.14, 2010, under Off the Beaten Path

Not to be outdone by the West Side’s Cinco de Mayo feista that happened last week, West St. Paul hosts its annual neighborhood-wide jamboree that includes tons of fun, family-oriented events at numerous locations!

Lots of physical activities will have you out and enjoying the nice weather! Participate in golf, softball, and horseshoe — yes, horseshoe — tournaments throughout the weekend. You can also get your 5K walk/jog on to benefit the WSP YMCA or enter your kids in the 4th annual Putt, Push, Pedal & Pitch competition on Saturday.

Fun-seekers can also party down at the Signal Hills Carnival, which runs through the weekend, or dance the night away to the West Side Band in the Commercial Club parking lot on Friday night or Saturday at the Heritage Middle School. Other attractions include the 4th Annual City Wide Garage Sale, a bicycle auction at the Public Works Facility, a BBQ Rib and Chicken Feast, the WSP Queen Coronation on Sunday, and of course, the annual parade on Saturday, which starts at 1pm at Emerson Avenue and ends at Haskell. This year’s Grand Marshall is none other than WCCO’s Jason DeRusha who joked via Facebook earlier today, ” I will be the Grand Marshall of the West St. Paul Days Parade Saturday. So if you want to heckle me, it starts at 1pm.” So, consider that your formal invitation!

West Saint Paul Days runs through Sunday, May 16th. Events happen at various locations at various times, so we suggest simply visiting this link to pick and choose what you want to do!
