Tonight’s festive opening reception at the Artists’ Mercantile is a doozy. Lay eyes on gorgeous Japanese
kimonos of all shapes, styles and colors. The opening reception will include an Origami paper folding demo, appetizers from Sakura, Asian-inspired art of all mediums by local artists, and a raffle to win your very own kimono! Don’t miss this vibrant exhibit based on Japanese tradition, and the beauty surrounding it.

AZ Gallery Member Show Part II

Head to the AZ Gallery this evening for the second of this summer’s back to back member’s exhibitions. Mingle with the artists and buy some reasonably priced work from the likes of D.C. Ice, Lisa & Paris Renfroe, John Olympio, Amy Clark and more. After you peruse the art, stop into the Black Dog Cafe next door for a glass of wine, a delicious homemade pizza, and tunes from the Fantastic Merlins!

Ever wonder how the animation in movies like Coraline and Wallace and Gromit was created? Well, the
Minnesota Historical Society and Carlos Ferguson of animation collective Tiny Circus are here to teach you how it’s done. This hands-on workshop will walk you through how stop motion animation works and will have you contributing to the development of an animated sequence. Learn how this style of animation can be a tool to tell family stories and more. Very cool!
